Weekly Notes from 4th Grade
I forgot to thank Mrs. Peralta and Mrs. Gustafson for their help with our Pumpkin Experiment and for passing out our treat for Trunk-or Treating. We had a good time trying to count all of those seeds on Halloween.
We start reading The Best Christmas Pageant Ever on Monday. We will read a chapter and then write a summary of the chapter. This is a skill that is important to learn. There are 7 chapters in the book. We should be finished by Christmas. Our first book report, a Container Report, will be assigned this week and will be due on December 12th.
Social Studies: We start studying the 5 regions of Virginia. We will have a quiz on each region. We will have a quiz on the Tidewater Region on Thursday.
Religion: Chapter 7 quiz on Friday.
English: We are working on sentences (complex and run-ons). We will have a quiz on Friday.
Vocabulary: We are beginning Unit 4. We will have a test on next Tuesday.
Math: We are working with multiplication and division. Students have been taught multiplication last year, so this year we take multiplication and apply it to expressions and equations. Unfortunately, many of the students do not have the times table memorized. Please practice with your child. I have started giving them a 3-minute multiplication test. Practice, practice, practice.
